ABOUT

Two images of Katy Tiz.

“Music is everything to me,” says Katy Tiz, “It’s my best friend, my worst enemy, my boyfriend, and my ex all rolled into one. I’m extremely dedicated, but never want one day to go by without a good laugh.” With a voice that can stop a person in their tracks and a sense a humor that can make just about anybody laugh, Katy Tiz is an unstoppable force. Those traits coupled with her unwavering passion for music landed her an early record deal with Republic/Lava Records. The deal uprooted the British songstress to LA.

Despite parting ways, Katy’s move to LA was imperative to propel her music career forward. She continued dedicating her time to the studio and recorded “The Big Bang” in Los Angeles. The track immediately started amassing an exceptional amount of buzz. Clear Channel/iHeartRadio named Katy their “On The Verge” artist after the release of the single, a huge feat for an unsigned musician. The single entered on the Hot 100 chart and scored Katy a record label deal with Atlantic.

Her next big break came with her release of “Whistle (While You Work It)." The single exploded. The track boasts over 19 million streams on Spotify, was featured in national TV campaigns (Sonicare, Shoe Dazzle), and has garnered mentions by key tastemakers (PopCrush, Shape Magazine, Huffington Post). The break led to Katy performing twice at The Today Show, at On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and she graced the stages of countless Pride shows and festivals. In addition to her past successes, Katy Tiz was recently announced as one of the faces of the Steve Madden GenSteve Spring campaign.

The quirky, quick-witted artist has done it yet again and inked a deal with Steve Madden’s indie label, 5Towns Records. She has been actively writing, spending her days and nights in the studio, and creating with a newly invigorated and fresh outlook. Katy Tiz has released her new single, “Life,” featuring Ed Drewett (past collaborations The Wanted, One Direction). Clash Magazine says its “...an electrifying pop return with moments of genuine subtlety, ‘Life’ opens a new chapter for Katy Tiz.” Her musical growth has led to this single being her most raw and enchanting yet. In addition in recent announcements for Katy Tiz, she will be part of the Steve Madden GenSteve Spring campaign.

Katy’s story is more of a journey. Her career started back in England in her teens. During those formative years she was creating music with her producer/songwriter brother, George, and their incredibly close friend, Rick Parkhouse, aka Katy’s brother from another mother. George and Rick are better known now for being the powerhouses behind Red Triangle Productions (Charlie Puth, One Direction). At her start, nothing could stop Katy from performing. Katy and her brother would play at any location they could land, from beach performances to underground clubs in London. As her musicianship transformed, she focused her efforts on developing a musical style all her own. Katy honed in on writing music she found relatable, which is still true of today. Katy says, “If I help one person through what I was feeling when I wrote a song, I’ll be happy. I hope I can give back what I searched for in music."
